Ohio University Lancaster, OhioMeansJobs partner to host community job fair

Ohio University Lancaster, in partnership with OhioMeansJobs Fairfield County and area nonprofit agencies, will host a community job fair on Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Brasee Hall Gymnasium at 1570 Granville Pike, Lancaster.

The event is being coordinated by Holly Kidd, career development coordinator at Ohio University Lancaster, and Jodi Smith, operations manager at OhioMeansJobs Fairfield County, and will bring together more than 50 employers and nonprofit organizations seeking to connect with local talent.

“Meet employers, make valuable connections, and discover opportunities that could launch your future career,” said Kidd. “We want every attendee to walk in prepared and walk out with new possibilities.”

The job fair is open to students, alumni and community members. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet hiring representatives, explore career pathways across a variety of high-demand industries and build professional connections that can lead to internships, part-time roles or full-time employment.

The job fair will be held in Brasee Hall on Tuesday, April 14.

Participants are encouraged to dress professionally, bring copies of their résumés and come prepared to network. Kidd, who is known as a “Career Co-Pilot” for OHIO students, will be on-site throughout the event to offer guidance, encouragement and last-minute tips to help attendees feel confident and prepared.

Smith noted that the event comes at an important time for the regional workforce.

“Fairfield County employers are actively hiring across multiple sectors, and we continue to see strong demand for skilled talent,” Smith said. “At the same time, many residents are exploring career changes, upskilling opportunities or entering the workforce for the first time. This job fair creates a direct connection between employers and job seekers, helping both sides navigate today’s competitive labor market.”

The job fair reflects Ohio University Lancaster’s continued commitment to workforce alignment, community engagement and strengthening partnerships that support the long-term economic vitality of Fairfield County.
