Faculty, staff invited to nominate OHIO students as Presidential Ambassadors

For the past two years, a select group of Ohio University students has partnered with the Office of the President to support signature events and university-wide initiatives as Presidential Ambassadors.

These students serve as trusted representatives of OHIO — distinguished for their leadership, professionalism and commitment to our community.

Presidential Ambassadors gain access to meaningful professional development opportunities, connect with University leaders and hear from distinguished guest speakers, offering a unique glimpse into institutional leadership while preparing them for success beyond OHIO.

The Office of the President invites faculty and staff to nominate outstanding students who embody the spirit of the Bobcat community and demonstrate the character, initiative and presence to represent Ohio University at the highest level. Participation in the Presidential Ambassador program is both an honor and a distinctive opportunity to contribute to the life and future of our University.

Application process

To be considered for membership in this distinguished student group, students must be willing to meet the required time commitments and submit an online application during the application period, which ends at midnight on March 13, 2026.

Applicants should meet the following:

• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student
• The completion of at least two semesters of academic work at OHIO by the start of the fall term in which they will begin serving
• A reference letter from an Ohio University faculty member or advisor

Letters of recommendation should be emailed to The Office of the President directly from the faculty member or advisor by email at president@ohio.edu.

The OHIO Presidential Ambassadors selection process is highly competitive. If students are chosen from the pool of applicants to progress to the next stage, they may be invited to participate in an in-person interview.
