Ohio University announces retirement of Robert 'Bob' Silva Jr., director of Technology Transfer
The Ohio University Division of Research and Creative Activity announces the retirement of Robert “Bob” Silva Jr., director of Technology Transfer, effective June 1, 2026. Silva concluded his active service and email correspondence on Jan. 1, 2026, and will remain on leave until his official retirement date.
For many years, Silva has been a cornerstone of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), providing exceptional leadership and expertise that advanced Ohio University’s research commercialization and innovation efforts. His contributions have significantly strengthened the University’s engagement with industry and the broader community.
“We are deeply grateful for Bob’s dedicated service and the lasting impact he has made on Ohio University,” said Eric Muth, Ph.D., vice president for research and creative activity. “His leadership and vision have been instrumental in driving innovation and supporting our mission.”
To ensure continuity of operations within the TTO, the Division is working closely with Jason Jolley, interim associate vice president for research partnerships, and Korie Sell, technology commercialization manager.
