OHIO community invited to memorial service for Sushila Goswami Gawande on Feb. 1

A memorial service celebrating Dr. Sushila Goswami Gawande, who passed away on Dec. 17, 2025, surrounded by love, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Ohio University.

Held at the Walter Hall Rotunda, the service will begin at 2 p.m. and will followed by a reception from 3:30-5 p.m.

All members of the Ohio University community are warmly invited to attend. Those wishing to learn more about Gawande's remarkable life or share reflections may read her obituary at this link.

This memorial event has been organized by the family of Dr. Sushila Gawande with support from Dr. Brian Collins, the Drs. Ram and Sushila Gawande Chair in Indian Religion and Philosophy at Ohio University, and University Advancement.
