New sessions added to upcoming Spotlight on Learning Conference

Two morning sessions on the Canvas learning management system have been added to the 2024 Spotlight on Learning conference.

The sessions will be delivered virtually via Teams and in person with refreshments available in Baker 240/242. Participants should bring their own devices.

Canvas Overview for Faculty: This session, presented by Canvas Learning Specialist Helen Wilson, will provide an interactive overview of how to build effective Canvas courses, use announcements and the calendar, support student engagement and deploy assessment tools. This session will be take place from 9 to 10:15 a.m., on Tuesday, April 16.

Canvas Phase 1 Updates: Office of Information Technology and Office of Instructional Design staff present Canvas Phase 1 assessment findings, support resources for faculty, an overview of OHIO's Canvas templates and how Canvas can improve teaching effectiveness and efficiency. This session will assist instructors as they plan for building their own courses in Canvas this summer and fall. This session will take place from 10:15 to 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 16. 

Participants should register for the Canvas sessions separately from the in-person conference.
