OHIO employees encouraged to participate in 2023 Wellbeing Needs and Interest Survey

In an effort to understand and improve upon employee wellbeing resources/services at Ohio University, the OHIO Wellness team would like to learn about the wellness priorities, overall values, and experiences of University employees (and the perceptions of their spouses/partners) relating to campus culture and wellbeing.

“We’re implementing a Wellbeing Needs and Interest Survey to capture a snapshot of how our employees and their families may be feeling about their own wellbeing and the University’s response to it,” explained OHIO Wellness Engagement and Marketing Coordinator Annie Laurie Cadmus.

“One aspect of our world today that is impacting all of us is the price of groceries, so any eligible respondent can choose to be included in a drawing for a $150 gift card to the grocery store of their choice,” said Executive Director of Wellbeing Jenn Bennett. “Thanks to support from Human Resources, we will be able to select 15 winners for the gift cards,” added Bennett.

The OHIO Wellness team, through the Healthy OHIO employee wellbeing program, has previously implemented a Wellbeing Needs and Interest Survey and utilized the aggregate data to inform programming. Examples of how previous survey data was utilized for program growth include: establishment of Wellness Champions, development of the Take a Break Campaign, expansion of the 100 Day Challenge to include remote check-ins, and elimination of up-front fees for Risk Reduction. The 2023 survey incorporates additional questions to previously utilized surveys to allow for a deeper dive into program and resource needs due to a national trend showing employers increasing their focus on mental, physical, and social health.

Benefits-eligible employees are encouraged to add wellworks@ohio.edu to their safe sender list to ensure they receive the invitation to participate in the survey and forward to spouses/partners.

“While we can email this survey to all benefits-eligible employees, we really rely on the employees to share it with their spouses/partners, if they have them,” said Cadmus. “The voices of the families of our employees are equally important, so we are hopeful employees forward this information to their spouses/partners.”

If you have questions about this feedback collection process, please email wellworks@ohio.edu

The 2023 Wellbeing Needs and Interest Survey is now open and will remain open through March 31, 2023.

The Needs and Interest survey is open to all current benefits-eligible employees and the spouses/partners of benefits-eligible employees across all OHIO campuses. Other classifications such as students, retirees, and community members are not eligible for participation. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. OHIO Wellness advises that the survey is most compatible with computers, but can also be accessed through mobile devices.

The 2023 Wellbeing Needs and Interest Survey is a three-part survey

Part One will ask about your values and priorities as they relate to health and wellbeing. This will give the OHIO Wellness team a better idea of how you view wellness and what your programmatic interests are.

Part Two will ask about your experiences at the University as they relate to personal wellbeing. This allows the Wellness team to assess how the University is supporting you in addressing your wellness priorities and values.

Part Three will ask you to disclose information about your campus, occupation type, gender identity, and race/ethnicity. (Questions of gender identity and race/ethnicity will be optional.

Grocery gift card drawing

Eligible respondents who wish to be included in the drawing for a grocery gift card will be given the option to opt-in at the conclusion of the survey. All responses will remain anonymous even if a respondent chooses to opt-in to the drawing by providing an email address. Grocery gift cards are a taxable incentive, with the tax deduction appearing on the payslip of the employee receiving the prize (or the employee associated with the spouse/partner receiving the prize). Winners will be notified via email on April 3, 2023.

Participation in this survey is completely voluntary. All responses will remain anonymous and data will only be utilized in aggregate form. Aggregate results of the survey will be shared with relevant offices across all campuses to be able to meaningfully collaborate on and improve upon employee wellbeing programming.
