DOSA Equity and Social Justice Committee: Call for proposals

The Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) Equity and Social Justice Committee is thrilled to again offer a live, half-day professional development workshop for employees on Thursday, March 2 from 8 a.m. – noon. Program proposals must be submitted by Jan. 29.

This is an opportunity for internal and external partners, faculty, staff and graduate assistants to serve as presenters or facilitators for the workshop's breakout sessions. You do not need to be affiliated with DOSA or Ohio University to submit a program proposal. All presentations will be 50 minutes in length and should include an emphasis on integrating at least one of the following topics into professional practice:

  1. Provide learners with strategies for dismantling inequities and creating more inclusive experiences, environments, and resources.
  2. Provide learners with techniques to better engage their communities.
  3. Explore important terms and/or concepts regarding equity and social justice.
  4. Provide learners with tips for communicating with and validating people from diverse backgrounds.

Please note: all sessions will be live so presenters must be available to present on March 2. There is no compensation for presenting; however, if a letter documenting this service would be helpful, the organizers would be happy to oblige.

Program proposals must be submitted by Jan. 29. To submit a proposal, please visit this website.
