State of Ohio minimum wage rate to increase on Jan. 1

Effective Jan. 1, 2023, the minimum wage in Ohio for non-tipped employees will increase to $10.10 per hour (up $0.80 from current State rate of $9.30) and for tipped employees the minimum wage will be $5.05 per hour (up $0.40 from the current rate of $4.65). Ohio University's current wage for hourly student employees, including federal work study and PACE continues at $11.00 per hour. 

Departments do not need to adjust employees’ pay rate to the new State minimum wage rate in WorkForce.
