Ohio University Women’s Club to co-host voter education event on Oct. 4

The Ohio University Women’s Club will co-host a voter education event with the Athens County League of Women Voters on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

“Power of the Vote: A Non-Partisan Defense of Democracy” will begin at 5 p.m. on Oct. 4, at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, located at 2 South College St. in Athens. 

The evening will begin with light refreshments from 5 – 5:30 p.m. From 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Jen Miller, executive director of the League of Women Voters of Ohio, will lead a presentation focused on the League’s efforts to end partisan gerrymandering, defend voter rights, and encourage robust participation in the fall election.

The evening will conclude with time for discussion from 6:30 – 7 p.m.
