Free student tickets for athletic events now available via mobile device

Ohio University students will now use their mobile devices instead of their student ID’s to access their free tickets to athletic events such as football games, men’s and women’s basketball games, and volleyball games. Student ID’s will no longer be used for admission; instead students will log into their ticket account on their mobile phones to receive access to their season ticket for each sport.

Incoming freshman or returning students can activate their ticket account through OHIO’s online ticket office. . Students will then enter their nine-digit PID number in the student ID box and click activate. Once students have activated their account, they must verify their OHIO email address, create a password, fill in the address fields, and click “next” to finish setting up the account.

Returning students whose accounts have already been activated can click here to login using their email address and password.

Students’ free football season tickets will be available on their account at the end of the month. It is encouraged for those attending games to download their tickets to either their Apple Wallet or G Pay app prior to the game. Tickets are required to be opened from the wallet apps at gates for scanning and validation.

Seating is general admission in the east grandstands, sections 117-124 in Peden Stadium. Tickets are non-transferable and re-entry is not permitted.

For students looking to bring a guest to athletic events, discounted tickets are also available for purchase through their account on the mobile device. Tickets are $30 for Saturday home football games and $10 for midweek home football games. Student guest tickets can be transferred to their guest by using their mobile number. After initiating a ticket transfer, guests will receive a text message with a link to accept their ticket and create their own account. Guests will then be able to download their ticket into their wallet app and present it at the gate.

Families visiting their students for OHIO’s Parent’s Weekend can also purchase tickets to the Saturday, Sept. 11 football game against Duquesne. To purchase tickets, click here and enter the promotional code “PWD” for access to general admission seating in the student sections.
