Volunteers needed for spring commencement ceremonies
The Division of Student Affairs is seeking volunteers from the Ohio University community to assist with the spring 2021 commencement ceremonies.
The spring 2021 commencement ceremonies are historic in nature, taking place for the first time in University history outdoors at Peden Stadium. Volunteers are needed for the following ceremonies:
Graduate Commencement (Friday, April 30)
- Please arrive at Peden Stadium no later than 7 a.m.
- Gates will open to the public at approximately 7:30 a.m.
- The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last 2-2.5 hours.
Undergraduate AM Ceremony (Saturday, May 1)
- Please arrive at the Convocation Center no later than 7 a.m.
- Gates will open to the public at approximately 7:30 a.m.
- The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last 2-2.5 hours.
Undergraduate PM Ceremony (Saturday, May 1)
- Please arrive at Peden Stadium no later than 2 p.m.
- Gates will open to the public at approximately 2:30 p.m.
- The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. and is expected to last 2-2.5 hours.
Undergraduate PM Ceremony (Sunday, May 2)
- Please arrive at Peden Stadium no later than noon.
- Gates will open to the public at approximately 12:30 p.m.
- The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and is expected to last 2-2.5 hours.
Spring commencement volunteer sign-ups will remain open through April 20. Registered volunteers will receive email communications from Event Services staff regarding assignments and volunteer training opportunities.
Ceremonies will occur rain or shine. Volunteers for each college to check in students will be sent a separate survey.
Please note: All guests entering Peden Stadium are advised to conduct a personal health screening before arriving to campus. Those who feel ill, have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, have been exposed to someone with symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or who have tested positive themselves, must stay home.
