COVID Operations launches testing incentive program

To motivate students to adhere to mandatory COVID-19 testing, COVID Operations has launched the COVID-19 Testing Incentive Program with drawings for prizes all semester long.

Asymptomatic testing is critical to slowing the spread of the virus and keeping OHIO campuses open.

"We are grateful to everyone who is participating,” said Gillian Ice, special assistant to the president for public health operations. "Of course, testing is mandatory, but that doesn’t necessarily mean students will comply. We have been pleased with participation so far, and we’d like to show our gratitude with some prizes.”

Undergraduate and graduate students on all OHIO campuses who complete regular COVID-19 tests through the University’s Vault Health testing program are eligible to participate.

Now through the end of April, every time a student completes a required test, they will be entered into a drawing. The more times a student tests, the more times they will be entered into the drawings, up to one entry per week.

Prizes range from small weekly gifts to major awards including iPad minis and a MacBook Pro. There is also a special incentive for the residence hall with the best testing compliance. COVID Operations will periodically report out on residence hall compliance to encourage friendly competition.

COVID Operations will notify prize winners via email and will congratulate them via social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).

Additionally, promotional stickers will be available at the Athens testing location so participants can show off their healthy commitment to the Bobcat community. Multiple sticker designs will be available throughout the semester.
