Sharpe was nominated by her OHIO colleagues Heather Gould and Mindy Colburn. The following is a sample of the comments made about Sharpe in the nomination:

“Cindy does an amazing job!! She is always willing to volunteer to help anyone when needed.  She always goes the extra mile to find the answer to any question that is asked. Her organizational skills are top notch. Cindy’s personality lights up a room. She has an amazing attitude that motivates us all to better employees and people.”

“Cindy has played a key role in helping Ohio University convert nearly all of its utility bills to Energy Cap. She most recently was part of the team that converted the regional campuses to Energy Cap. This is not only a major accomplishment for Cindy but is a huge benefit to Ohio University as it is the system that pays, tracks, and monitors utility usage for all campuses.”

“Cindy has become our AP go-to person for Mail Services bill payment. She stepped up and now tracks and pays all invoices for them. Cindy is also the employment coordinator for Facilities, Design and Construction, Printing, Logistics, Airport, Sustainability, BSC/Ohio Ready Staff, and the Office of CFO. We re-organized the structure of the job posting units and Cindy assumed new units with grace and ease.”

“Cindy is an amazing person! She always has a smile on her face and is always willing to accept new challenges. Cindy is the BSC “bright light;” you can’t be sad or in a bad mood with Cindy in your office. I couldn’t ask for a better employee than Cindy! Thank you for everything that you do for the BSC and Ohio University.”

Sharpe recently answered some get-to-know you questions:

How long have you worked at your job?

I have been with Ohio University for eight years going on nine. I started in the Accounts Payable Department and moved to The VPFA Business Service in April 2016.

What are the most enjoyable things about your job?

I like pretty much all of the aspects of my job. It is a variety and I enjoy them all and all of my co-workers; they are a great group.

If you weren’t in your present job, you would be working as a ___?

Accountant.

What hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing when you’re not at work?

I really enjoy the sun so I like to be in my swimming pool, and I also enjoy my boxer dogs (Ellie Mae & Madie Mae); they are babies. I don’t know what I would do without them.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I have learned everything I know from hands-on experience. I have worked hard all of my life.
