Athens campus announces planned power outages for December

Facilities Management and Safety has scheduled three campus-wide electric outages in December. 

These outages provide an opportunity to finish the equipment upgrade in the main substation, implement the first electrical distribution loop on campus, and perform necessary preventative maintenance.  

These activities reduce the likelihood of an unplanned service interruption and enable Facilities Management and Safety to more quickly and safely respond in the event of an unplanned outage.  The 16-hour outages have been scheduled during non-business hours to minimize impact to the Ohio University community.

The outages will occur at the following times and dates:
 

  • Friday, December 11, 2020
    • Start: 5:00 A.M.
    • Complete: 6:00 A.M.
    • Total Duration: 1 hour
  • Sunday, December 13, 2020
    • Start: 6:00 A.M.
    • Complete: 10:00 P.M.
    • Total Duration: 16 hours
  • Saturday, December 19, 2020
    • Start: 6:00 A.M.
    • Complete: 10:00 P.M.
    • Total Duration: 16 hours


Buildings and areas that will not be impacted by the planned outages include:
 

• 4 University Terrace

• 31 S. Court Street

• Bingham House

• Columbus Road buildings

• Konneker Alumni Center

• Pilcher House

• West State Street Research Park

• West Union Street Office Center
