Black Student Success Workshop is Feb. 29

The Ohio University Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention (OMSAR) will host the Black Student Success Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Baker University Center 240.

The morning sessions include:

  •  “VIA character strengths”
  • “Being a student leader - the do’s and don’ts and is it really worth it?”

After lunch is served, the following concurrent sessions will take place:

  • “What do I bring to the table? – Learn how to make yourself marketable with all that you are already doing”
  • “Leadership compass – What kind of a leader are you?”
  • “Salary negotiation – Learn how to negotiate your salary once you find that dream job”
  • “Mock interview with a panel – Practice and prepare for any interview”

“This is the last event that OMSAR will host for the Black History Month series,” said Vanessa Morgan-Nai, OMSAR’s coordinator for multicultural advising and African American student success. “We hope for a large turnout as we conclude Black History Month.”
