Patton College faculty member Courtney Koestler gives EdTalk on how Teaching is not Neutral

Dr. Courtney Koestler is the Director of the OHIO Center for Equity in Mathematic and Science in The Patton College of Education at Ohio University and is a former public elementary and middle school teacher who has taught in culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities. Originally from Ohio, Koestler is an alum from OHIO with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics, a master’s degree from George Mason University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Koestler’s scholarship centers on diversity, equity, social justice, and critical pedagogies in PreK-6 education, teacher education, and mathematics education, and most recently on privilege and oppression in schools, schooling, and teacher education.
