Hall-Jones updates DOSA staff on strategic planning process

On March 9, 2018, Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones sent the following update to DOSA staff regarding the division's ongoing strategic planning process.

Dear DOSA staff,

I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday afternoon! Thanks to some great feedback from the table conversations at the January all-staff, we now have FINAL Mission, Vision, Values and Breakthrough Objectives to share with you. Feel free to start incorporating these into your work. They are:

Mission: We care. We educate and empower. We foster inclusive communities. We make OHIO strong.

Vision: Every Bobcat discovers their potential and makes a meaningful impact.

Values: Community, Character, Civility, Citizenship and Commitment

Breakthrough Objectives: The OHIO Division of Student Affairs will…

  • work to engage all students in meaningful programs, services and activities to increase retention and graduation rates.
  • ensure that a framework of equity and social justice is embedded into our day to day work.
  • create, measure and improve upon common student learning outcomes across departments.

Right now, the committee is putting finishing touches on the broad measurable key results and timelines for each of the breakthrough objectives. We are also finishing the larger strategic plan report and hope to get that you to in the next few weeks. Although the plan will be finished soon, the implementation of our strategic plan is just beginning. Together, we can make a greater impact than just the sum of our parts.

I look forward to it.

Jenny
