Jen Bowman, OMC Director of STEM Educational Programs

In collaboration with OMC, Jen Bowman serves as the Ohio STEM Learning Network SE Hub’s Director, overseeing OMC’s STEM Educational Programs. Jen Bowman is the Director of Environmental Programs at Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service. She has 27 years of experience in water quality assessment and watershed and data management. She serves as a working group lead for the Ohio River Basin Alliance – Knowledge and Education for Informed Decisions (KID) as well as a commissioner on the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission for the state of Ohio. She aligns environmental needs in the region to the expertise across the University; bringing ‘real-world’ projects to the School where students, faculty, and professional staff work collaboratively to solve complex environmental issues. Recently she has been working with colleagues at the School to build an online platform called the Appalachian STEM Enrichment Academy to extend research and knowledge from the university to area students and teachers in K-12 environmental STEM education. She has a master’s degree in Environmental Geochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geology from Ohio University (2000, 1997).
