Why I became a Sorority Woman: "There were very few Latinx folks at UF at the time I was an undergrad. In order to succeed, I needed to be part of a community that shared my language, values, and most importantly food choices! It was truly a blessing to discover there were multicultural fraternities and sororities on my campus. I was a non-traditional/transfer student so my sorority sisters provided a familial environment. By the time I got to UF, all of my high school friends had already graduated so Gamma Eta proved to be a safe space for me. I thrived as a leader, woman, and scholar. Being part of my sorority opened doors of opportunity for me that I would have never known about had it not been for my sorority involvement on campus!"
