The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, also known as the Clery Act, is a federal law that requires institutions of higher education to disclose information regarding campus security and personal safety.

In accordance with the Clery Act, Ohio University publishes a yearly Annual Security Report.  The Annual Security Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety, including such topics as: crime prevention, local law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on campus. Crime statistics for the Athens and Regional campuses are provided for the three previous calendar years. In addition, crime statistics also include reported crimes that occurred in off-campus buildings owned or controlled by Ohio University, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
