iCUE Spotlight: March 2-8, 2017

What's in the CUE this week at Ohio U.

It's nearly spring break! Campus will be much quieter during the upcoming week, but if you're staying in Athens, don't worry, there's still plenty to do around here! To everyone else, we'll miss having you around for the next few days; be sure to have fun and be safe! We hope everyone will be able to enjoy some well-deserved time off from class or work. And remember, anyone with an OHIO ID can add events that are happening on all OHIO campuses.

Here are a few highlights from the week ahead:

Navigating the Current Immigration Environment (Thursday, March 2, 1:30-3:00 p.m., Baker University Center Theatre): International Student and Faculty Services and the Office of Global Affairs are proud to present this event that will focus on current immigration issues. Immigration attorneys Ken Robinson and Bano Itayim from the firm of Slowik and Robinson, LLC, in Columbus will give a presentation on immigration issues stemming from the recent executive orders from our federal government. There also will be a Q & A session with students, faculty, staff and area residents. This event is free and open to the public!

In Honor of Abner Jonas (daily through Saturday, March 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Trisolini Gallery, Baker University Center 405): The School of Art + Design organized this exhibition as a tribute to Professor Emeritus Abner Jonas, longtime faculty member and previous school director who passed away Monday, Feb. 6. Don't miss your chance to honor the memory of this celebrated artist and printmaker by enjoying his work.

OHIO Up Close (Friday, March 3, all day, Baker University Center): Welcome future Bobcats! We're so excited to have admitted first-year students and their families join us on campus to help get acclimated to their new home for the next few years. The students and their families will get the scoop about life on campus, including academics, residence life and campus organizations by viewing residence halls, meeting with their college faculty, attending a current student panel and resource fair, and receiving assistance in their next steps to enrolling at Ohio University. We can't wait to see everyone!

OHIO Men's Basketball vs. Miami (Friday, March 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Convocation Center): It's a Senior Day edition of the 'Battle of the Bricks' against rival Miami of Ohio. It's the last regular season home game and many students will have left campus for spring break, so let's come out to support the team and thank seniors Antonio Campbell, Drew Crabtree, Kenny Kaminski and Wadly Mompremier for a job well done over the years. And women's basketball's senior day is Saturday, March 4 at 2 p.m. as they host Akron!
