University Program Council to host ‘Fat Tuesday with UPC’

Ohio University’s University Program Council (UPC) will be hosting “Fat Tuesday with UPC” from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, on the fifth floor of Baker University Center.

Free and open to all Ohio University students, UPC designed its “Fat Tuesday with UPC” event to bring a little taste of New Orleans to Athens. During the event, students will be treated to Fat Tuesday and New Orleans-style food, including gumbo, jambalaya, beignets and King’s Cake. Other activities at the event will include decorating masks, beaded necklace giveaways, and games with prizes.

Event planners Aly Wolfe and Carrie Ramage said they hope to bring students into the Mardi Gras and New Orleans spirit with this event while also keeping with the tradition of Fat Tuesday.

The University Program Council is a volunteer organization of students who work to bring innovative programs to Ohio University and the surrounding community. UPC’s primary goal is to provide fun, exciting, engaging and entertaining programs and events for all members of the OHIO community.
