OHIO wins NACUFS award for Boyd Market


Ohio University has won the National Association of College and University Food Services’ Silver Medal award for the recently renovated Boyd Market.

The OHIO Culinary Services’ campus market received the honor in the category of ‘Retail Sales — Multiple Concepts/Marketplace’ in 2016 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards contest.

A panel of judges gave high marks to Boyd Market for its Menu Selection, Facility Design, Marketing, and ‘Wow” factor. Judges were particularly impressed with the Veggie Butcher concept, product offerings and sustainability efforts.

Judges comments about Boyd Market included:

  • “Great work to include local ingredients — I think your ‘Uniquely Ohio’ brand should be even more prevalent.”
  • “Love the reusable bag concept.”
  • “The look and presentation of the Veggie Butcher is nice!
