Lyda Ngin, from Cambodia, joined the Global Leadership Center as a Graduate Assistant in Fall 2018. Her undergraduate degrees in Cambodia focused on Law and Business Administration. Lyda is currently a second-year master’s student in Communication and Development Studies.
For eight years, before receiving a scholarship to pursue an education at Ohio University, she worked with local and international nonprofit organizations in the fields of communications, resource development/fundraising, media, social media, event/voluntary management and advocacy. In her career, her responsibilities involved interacting and collaborating with various stakeholders counting local community/grassroot organizations, academics, students, nonprofits, journalists, international partners, government and private sectors. During this period, she earned a certificate in ICT and Pedagogical Development in Sweden and Uganda, as well as a certificate from The United States Department of State Bureaus on Educational and Cultural Affairs, as a Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiatives (YSEALI) for Professional Fellowship Program in 2016. She also was selected as an awardee of the Open Society Foundation project in 2017.
