About the Physician Assistant Practice Program

  • Housed in a large, dedicated academic space (28,000 square feet) in the Ohio University Integrated Education Center in Dublin, Ohio.
  • Proud to have a diverse and interdisciplinary faculty representing PAs, physicians (DO and MD), a registered dietitian, and a licensed pharmacist. Collectively the faculty have experience in emergency medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, public health, endocrinology, geriatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and research.
  • Interprofessional opportunities with the OHIO Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and other professions within the College of Health Sciences and Professions.
  • Actively recruiting students from regions that are considered medically underserved and students with military experience.
  • Aims to be a nationally recognized leader in PA education, preparing leaders in the health care industry and clinical practice.

Mission

The mission of the Ohio University Master of Physician Assistant Practice program is to prepare students to be leaders in Physician Assistant practice in any clinical setting, with a particular emphasis on primary care in urban and rural underserved communities in the State of Ohio and throughout Appalachia.

The Ohio University Physician Assistant (OHIO PA) program is intended for individuals with a commitment to provide health care services in underserved urban and rural communities, with a particular emphasis on the underserved populations in Appalachia. The program includes 72 semester hours of didactic coursework and 30 hours of clinical rotations for a total of 102 semester hours.
