Sarah Namubiru
Sarah Namubiru, a first-year student (MA Communication and Development Studies), is a dedicated professional from Uganda, East Africa, with expertise in community development, project management and training. She has delivered training sessions on health, hygiene, and financial literacy, as well as implementing development initiatives, mobilizing communities and preparing reports and proposals.
Education: Bachelor's degree in arts, majoring in Ethics and Development Studies (2015) from Uganda Martyrs university (UMU); Certificate in Venture training program (2023) from Viatores Christi, Dublin, Ireland; Training in Entrepreneurial Program (STEP) from UMU in collaboration with Leuphana University of Luneburg and Uganda National commission for UNESCO in 2014.
Professional experience: Project Field Officer, Caritas Justice and Peace in Kampala Archdiocese; Administrative assistant in Kasana - Luweero Diocese; Data Enumerator in AKVO Company; Volunteer Front Desk Officer at Cardinal Nsubuga Leadership Training Centre.
Skills: Communication and project coordination, report writing and proposal development, community mobilization and advocacy, data collection and analysis, facilitation and training.
Research interest: Identifying evidence-based, community-centered models for health communication and social change to address socio-economic challenges faced by adolescent girls and young mothers in resource-limited settings, with a focus on empowering them to drive positive change and support sustainable development goals.
Personal interests: Volunteering, Novels, traveling, movies, making friends, swimming and dancing.
