Ryann Davis
Ryann Davis is a recent graduate from Ohio University, having graduated with a B.A. in Political Science this past May. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, a member of Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Society, and a holder of certificates in Writing; Environmental Studies, Sustainability and Resilience; and Law, Justice, and Culture.
She is excited to begin pursuing her Master’s in Communication and Development Studies. Her research interests include environmental sciences, sustainable development, security, and subversive narratives in media and literature. During her final year of undergrad, Ryann completed an undergraduate honors thesis titled “Caught in the Net: Analyzing Somali Institutional Weaknesses and Their Implications for Piracy” under the advisement of Dr. Brandon Kendhammer.
In undergrad, she worked in the nonprofit and advocacy space with organizations such as the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development and Ohio University’s American Civil Liberties Union chapter.
In her free time, Ryann loves to read all kinds of books (especially Irish literature and essay collections) and coach youth volleyball!
