Emmanuel Mensah
Emmanuel Mensah is a Ghanaian journalist and graduate student in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University. With years of experience in broadcast journalism in Accra, Ghana, he has worked as an editor, morning show producer, and sports commentator, building a reputation for thoughtful storytelling and disciplined newsroom leadership. His professional practice has been grounded in accuracy, ethical responsibility, and the conviction that media narratives shape public values and social outcomes.
At Ohio University, Emmanuel’s work bridges journalism and scholarship. His research examines entertainment-education as a strategy for social change, with a particular focus on the long-term impact of the Ghanaian program By the Fireside. He explores how media can address social, cultural, and moral concerns while promoting positive behavioral change.
Beyond research, Emmanuel is actively engaged in academic and creative production. He has produced documentaries, narrative sound projects, and visual media and has held leadership roles including President of the Communication and Development Students Association and Vice President of International Student Union.
Beyond these, Emmanuel is a WWE fan and loves to spend time also playing PS5 video games.
