Benedict Osei Tutu Kwarteng
Benedict Osei Tutu Kwarteng is from Ghana, currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Rural Development from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and an MPhil in Strategic Communication from University of Education, Winneba.
Benedict worked as a Development Communication Officer at JMK Consulting Limited. He has also collaborated with several research-focused organizations including Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), World Vision International, and Lyme Haus. His work in these contexts spans field data collection, impact evaluation, multimedia content creation, and communication support across projects in health, gender, social protection, and education.
He is a Graduate Assistant at the Infectious and Tropical Disease Institute (ITDI) at Ohio University, where he works with Dr. Mario Grijalva- an internationally recognized expert in the spread and prevention of Chagas disease. Benedict contributes to media content creation, editing interviews and short films, and supporting bilingual research dissemination.
His academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to using strategic communication as a tool for advancing health equity, gender justice, and community development. His long-term goal is to work with agencies like the Ministry of Information or the Health Promotion Division to build communication systems that translate research into policy, expand public access to information, and support inclusive development.
