Abdul Qayyum is from Pakistan and holds an Executive MBA from Air University in Islamabad. He is currently a first-year MA student in Communication and Development Studies at Ohio University (Class of 2025).

With over a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, Abdul has dedicated his career to advancing human rights and advocacy for marginalized communities in Pakistan. He is an alumnus of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and an active member of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN). 

Over the years, he has led and co-led initiatives with local and international NGOs to empower grassroots communities, particularly youth and gender and sexual minorities, across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the capital region. His volunteer works include heading the communication department with local non-profit Marketancy Pakistan and Families For Pakistan (FFPak) based in Islamabad. His expertise spans human rights promotion, physical and digital safety and security, child protection, health awareness, and youth leadership development.

Abdul has also designed and facilitated numerous capacity-building trainings, project implementation, documentation, and communications. His professional focus is on using the power of communication to shape narratives, empower communities, drive sustainable change, and influence policy.

Outside of his professional work, Abdul enjoys traveling, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, and exchanging ideas on growth and leadership. He values collaboration and embraces communication tools and diversity as a key driver for social progress.
