Eligibility and Award Details

Applicant must be an Ohio University faculty member or graduate student in a humanities or humanities-related discipline.

Awards will support research related travel or acquisition of research materials up to $1,000 to be used during the spring and summer of 2026.

How to Apply

Applicants will be asked to provide the following information on the online application:

  • Applicant details.
  • Application narrative (250 words maximum) describing the research or internship/experiential learning project the award would support.
  • Justification of eligibility (250 words maximum) indicating the significance of the project to the humanities.
  • Schedule of activities (100 words maximum) providing a timeline for the work proposed in the application.
  • Itemized budget (150 words maximum) explaining the proposed allocation of award funds.

*According to the National Endowment for the Humanities, “The term ‘humanities’ includes, but is not limited to, the study of the following: language, both modern and classical; linguistics; literature; history; jurisprudence; philosophy; archaeology [and anthropology]; comparative religion; ethics; the history, criticism, and theory of the arts; those aspects of social sciences which have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods; and the study and application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.
