Mayors' Partnership for Progress

August 1, 2014

The Mayors' Partnership for Progress, a consortium of mayors and city managers, began meeting in 1995 as the vision of several regional mayors.  In 1996 they were formally incorporated as the Mayors’ Partnership for Progress, signing an agreement for technical assistance with Ohio University. The organization became a nonprofit in 2003.

The Mayors' Partnership for Progress is charted to serve municipalities in 11 counties (over 60 communities) across southern and south eastern Ohio (Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Vinton and Washington counties).

The purpose of the group is to provide a platform to share information and resources via open forums and invited presenters to better address common issues faced by municipalities throughout the region.

The group meets the second Thursday of each month.  Lunch is by reservation at 12 noon and the meeting begins at 12:30 pm.  Two evening meetings are slated annually to additionally accommodate municipal schedules.

All public service leaders are encouraged to attend. The meetings are open to municipal officials or their designees, as well as, representatives from various state and regional offices.

To make a reservation or obtain meeting details please contact Robert Gordon, Coordinator, at gordonr1@ohio.edu or by phoning (740) 597-2508.  You may also visit our calendar of events for detailed information on the next scheduled meeting.
