Ohio EPA Awards Ohio University more than $393,000 for Stream Restoration Project

 Ohio EPA has awarded a $393,875 grant to Ohio University’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to help reduce the impact of acid mine drainage on Raccoon Creek’s headwater region in Hocking County. The university is matching the grant with $812,610 in local dollars. The work will be implemented by Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. The grant is one of seven federal Section 319 Clean Water Act grants awarded by Ohio EPA this year. The grants total nearly $2.9 million.
