Rising to customer expectations
March 3, 2011
Tim and Carolyn Springer started their company, Elevator Solutions, in hopes of providing better customer service and a less corporate approach to the elevator inspection, repair and maintenance industry.
In order to offer those services, however, the Springers needed to locate funding for their project. In August 2007, the couple met Shawn Mallett, the Small Business Development Center’s director. Mallett told them they needed to have a business plan.
Mallett helped the Springers put together their plan, and in doing do, realized that Elevator Solutions had a niche they could easily fall into – providing experience and knowledge with a close-knit, personal touch.
After being given their business plan, the Springers received funding from a bank that had worked with SBDC clients in the past. Elevator Solutions has done nothing but grow and now employs four people and signed a contract with the University of Rio Grande.
