
OHIO forensics team dominates tournament
ATHENS, Ohio (Jan. 28, 2013)--The Ohio University Forensics Team, the Speaking Bobcats, dominated the Ohio Forensics Association Novice State Championship held at Ohio University in Athens, Jan. 25-26, 2013.
Three first-year competitors on the team brought home eight State Individual Team Titles and one 2nd place trophy. Additionally, the Bobcats were named State Champions in Team Sweepstakes, scoring 220 points, defeating 2nd place Malone University (144 points) and 3rd place Cedarville College (86 points).
Freshman Ryan Carrigan (Normal, IL) was named State Champion in Trithon, which is an individual sweepstakes category for competitors entered in all three competitive genres (interpretation, public address, and limited preparation speaking).
