MCB 6700 Current Topics in Molecuar and Cellular Neuroscience
Purpose of course: The purpose of this course is to train graduate students in neuroscience to critically examine current publications in their desired area of expertise. It is also designed to familiarize them with a wide variety of experimental problems and the approaches to solving them. It will encourage them to present and discuss the findings with the instructor and with their peers, and to thus learn from each other in a small group interactive setting. Students will be expected to investigate unfamiliar subjects more fully on their own and to draw on their educational background to understand and explain to the rest of the class. It is anticipated that most students will read two to three times the material that is formally assigned, in order to participate adequately in the discussion.
