Ohio University Lancaster Assistant Professor of History Ping-Yuan Wang will travel to Belgium during Spring Break to work on a research project sponsored by the Ohio University Research Committee. The purpose of the trip is to explore the rich collection of religious texts at the Ruusbroec Institute.
Ohio University Lancaster I Pickerington Adjunct English Professor Robert Cooperman is directing the world premiere of the full-length play "Kate 'n' Spence." Cooperman also wrote the play. It's being produced by the Evolution Theatre Company in Columbus in late February.
Ohio University Lancaster Adjunct Instructor of Art Chris Eaton has two paintings featured in Athens Paints, an exhibition at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens. The exhibit features more than 40 notable painters of yesterday and today who are living, working, or studying in Athens.
Nicole Roberts is one of the Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington Students of the Month for March. Her major is History. Nicole interned at the Fairfield Heritage Association. She also has been on OUL's dean's list.
Issac Duncan is one of the March Students of the Month at Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington. Duncan is majoring in Specialized Studies Deaf Communication. He is an officer in the OUL American Sign Language Club and has been on overseas missions in Africa.
Assistant English Professor Dr. Matt Wanat went to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association’s annual conference. He read a paper entitled “Quentin Tarantino, Remembering Elmore Leonard.” Elmore Leonard died last fall, after six decades of exemplary formula writing, mostly westerns and crime novels. Leonard wrote nearly 50 novels, along with dozens of short stories and screenplays, and many of his works have been adapted into films: 3:10 to Yuma, The Tall T, Hombre, Stick, Get Shorty, Out of Sight, etc.
