As the Leader in Residence Spring Quarter 2009, Balarama Chandra das brings a decade of immersion into the culture of India,  the study of Hindu philosophy and the practice of Yoga and Meditation to the Global Leadership Center. B.Chandra spent 8 years living as a Hindu Monastic in the United States and in India, serving within the International Society for Krishna Consciousness  (ISKCON). Initiated as a Hindu Priest in 2005, Balarama Chandra authoritatively lectures and  leads seminars on the Vedas and Yoga systems. Each year B.Chandra travels to India continuing his studies and introducing others to the beauty of the Indian sub-continent and all its wealth. Through B.Chandra's sincere passion for health and wellness education, he has developed, organized and currently directs a non-profit organization (Food For Life Experience) and volunteers his time facilitating events for an Ohio University student organization: Conscious Ohio. Over the years, Balarama Chandra has acted as an inspiring and knowledgeable resource for the GLC’s annual New Vrindaban Community for Harvard Pluralism Project.
