Program Objectives for Computer Science
Maintained by the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the undergraduate computer science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
The program has three major objectives for its students:
- Depth and breadth: Producing graduates who will have the theoretical, practical, and professional knowledge to be immediately productive upon entering the workforce or advanced study.
- Staying current: Producing graduates who will maintain and develop the knowledge and skills needed to identify, formulate, and solve problems throughout their careers.
- Professionalism: Producing graduates who exhibit an understanding of the necessity for personal integrity, ethical behavior, and cultural awareness.
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science also has an active advisory board that keeps faculty in touch with industry needs and developments.
