Computer engineers deal with the research, design, development, and testing of computer systems in the areas of both computer hardware and software. This includes microprocessors / microcontrollers, digital systems, VLSI/VHDL design, network security, distributed computing, computer architecture, and embedded digital systems.
Electrical and computer engineering graduates have gone on to work in engineering and business consulting firms; government agencies; electrical, electronic and computer equipment manufacturers; and transportation, communications and utilities firms; as well as the computer and data processing services industry, computer programming, systems integration, and information retrieval.
