Student Organizations

Russ College students can broaden their horizons with more than 15 engineering organizations and honor societies.  The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers EECS students several organization chapters that provide opportunities for guest lectures, competitions, and interaction with industry professionals:

• Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest technical professional society dedicated to electrical engineering and electronics.
• Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's first professional society dedicated to educational and scientific computing.

Two honor societies and another professional society have local chapters:

• Eta Kappa Nu, the international honorary electrical engineering society.
• Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the international honor society for computing and information disciplines.
• Institute of Navigation (ION), a nonprofit professional society dedicated to the advancement of the art and science of navigation.

Additional organizations include:

• National Society of Black Engineers
• National Society of Professional Engineers
• Electric Bobcat Racing Team (Part of the Society of Automotive Engineers)
