2009 Undergraduate Commencement
Saturday, June 13, 2009, 9:30 a.m.
Convocation Center
This ceremony is for bachelor’s and associate’s degree candidates. The following colleges will participate in this ceremony:
· College of Business
· College of Fine Arts
· Regional Campuses
· Russ College of Engineering & Technology
· Scripps College of Communication
· University College Note: This order does not reflect the order that degrees will be conferred.
Candidates must assemble in the Convocation Center garage area no later than 8:45 a.m.
Signs will be placed throughout the garage area indicating each college’s location. Candidates will form a single line behind the appropriate sign. Candidates will receive a name card in the garage area which they must keep with them until they are called to the platform for recognition.
Tickets are not necessary for this ceremony.

2009 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker
This year, Herman Leonard, a 1947 Ohio University alumnus and world-renowned photographer whose images captured the history and movement of jazz will be speaking at Ohio University's two undergraduate ceremonies.
Leonard has received numerous national accolades for his work, including the Milt Hinton Award for Excellence in Jazz Photography, the Lifetime Achievement Award from Downbeat magazine and the Lucie Achievement in Portraiture Award. In the forward of his third book, "Jazz, Giants, and Journeys: The Photography of Herman Leonard," published in 2006, Quincy Jones wrote, "When people think of jazz, their mental picture is likely one of Herman's." |
