Esmond-Kiger, Wyatt named Presidential Teachers
Newly named Presidential Teachers Connie Esmond-Kiger and Sarah Wyatt share not only a love for teaching, but a love for doing it at Ohio University. Esmond-Kiger, an associate professor of accounting, was recognized at Saturday morning's undergraduate commencement exercises, and Wyatt, an associate professor of environmental and plant biology, was singled out at the afternoon ceremony. Outstanding students recognized at commencement
At this weekend's commencement ceremonies, the best and brightest students were honored as Outstanding Student Leaders. Seven undergraduate students and two graduate students were recognized for their scholarship and involvement in the university and Athens communities. (June 11, 2007) more>>





An ending that marks many bright beginnings
What do the most recent Ohio University graduates wear? On Saturday, they donned colorful honor cords that celebrated academic achievement. And star-shaped sunglasses. And mortarboards that bore messages of thanks to Mom and Dad or hinted at future careers. And red high heels. Mark Phillips named Distinguished Professor
Ohio University has named composer and School of Music Professor Mark Phillips this year's Distinguished Professor, the university's highest faculty honor. Phillips was recognized during Saturday's undergraduate commencement exercises. (June 9, 2007) more>>

Integrity, ethics and a lifelong commitment to learning were common themes as 102 physicians graduated from Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine Saturday morning. Members of the 28th class traded the title "student doctor" for "doctor" and earned their green and white hoods at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. (June 4, 2007)

This year's list of Ohio University honorary degree recipients has an international flavor, with four of the five recipients hailing from outside the United States. African prince crowns OU career with Ph.D.

Colleagues in Athens already know him as a musician, scholar and teacher. But in his home of Ghana, Agya Boakye-Boaten is known as something else: a prince. On June 8, this tribal prince, drummer and soon-to-be professor will earn his doctorate in cultural studies and conclude six years of study at Ohio University, where he will have earned three degrees. Hwang personally at Ohio University's undergraduate commencement exercises on June 9.
