Reservations Space may be reserved within and outside Baker University Center in a manner consistent with the Ohio University policy #24.003 “Baker Center Reservations.” All requests for reservations should be directed to the Reservations Office, Baker University Center 347, (740) 593-4020. Details on all aspects of using space with the Center are here.
Newspaper Distribution Newspapers may be sold or distributed within Baker University Center only in places designated for that purpose by the Director of Baker University Center.
Posting Advertisements and announcements may be posted within Baker University Center only in places designated for that purpose by the Director of Baker University Center and as described in Ohio University policy #24.002 “Baker University Center Advertising and Announcements.”
Catering All catering in Baker University Center is subject to Ohio University policy #47.015 “Catering.” In general, only Ohio University Catering can provide such services on Ohio University property. Limited exceptions from the policy are possible; contact the Ohio University Catering Office, Baker University Center 125, (740) 593-4035, for details.
Promotional Banners Promotional banners may be displayed within Baker University Center only in places designated for that purpose and in a manner approved by the Director of Baker University Center. Use of promotional banners is limited to University-related events and activities planned by University departments or registered student organizations. Baker University Center reserves the right to approve or disapprove any proposed promotional banner; such banners will be displayed at the sole discretion of the Director.
Information Tables Tables for display of information are available inside and outside Baker University Center for use by University departments and registered students organizations. For details of locations and to reserve a table space, contact the Reservations Office, Baker University Center, Baker 347, (740) 593-4020.
Solicitation Sales and solicitation are permitted by University departments and registered student organizations within or on the grounds of Baker University Center in accordance with University policy #24.005 “Baker Center Solicitation.” Space for vendor sales is available on a limited basis; for details contact the Reservations Office, Baker University Center, Baker 347, (740) 593-4020.
Billiards Use Policy Individual Play
- Billiards, ping-pong, and foosball games are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Billiards, ping-pong, and foosball games are available to Ohio University students free of charge.
- Billiards is available to faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and guests at a rate of $5.00 per hour. Ping-pong, and foosball games are available to faculty, staff, alumni, community members, and guests at a rate of $3.00 per hour.
Ohio University Students will be asked to present an Ohio University ID to play for free. All participants will be required to leave a driver’s license as collateral for game equipment.
All participants must be 16 years of age or older, or be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Food and beverage service must be provided by Ohio University Catering per Ohio University policy 47.015 (740-593-4035).

Information on group reservations of the billiards area is available on our reservations page. Or, contact Baker University Center Administration (room 347 or 740-593-4020) for group reservations or for more information. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

In Baker University Center - Private events within Baker University Center may include alcoholic beverage service arranged through Ohio University Catering.
- Alcoholic beverages are served in Latitude 39 Restaurant in the Center. Beverages may not be removed from the restaurant.
- All aspects of Ohio University policy regarding alcohol apply within Baker University Center and on its adjacent grounds.
What is permitted on campus? - Indoor public or private events with alcoholic beverages are permitted on University property if the majority of those in attendance will be over 21.
- Outdoor private events with alcoholic beverages are permitted on University property if the majority of those in attendance will be over 21.
- In residence halls and recognized Greek chapter houses, those over 21 may consume in their rooms or the room of another student over 21.
What is not permitted on campus? - No outdoor public events with alcoholic beverages are permitted on University property.
- No events of any kind with alcoholic beverages are permitted in residence halls or Greek chapter houses.
- No individual use of alcoholic beverages is permitted in public areas of campus, of residence halls, or of Greek chapter houses.
- No event where alcohol is served can be sponsored by an alcohol brand, manufacturer or distributor.
What is required for events that are permitted? - Any event where alcoholic beverages are served must be held in accordance with applicable laws and must be approved in advance and in writing by Ohio University.
- Event planners are responsible for the conduct of all persons present and for compliance with the policy; they agree not to consume alcohol during the event.
- The majority of those in attendance must be over 21, and identification must be checked.
- Neither alcohol nor its consumption can serve as the theme of an event, nor can any other aspect of the event encourage consumption.
- Manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers cannot sponsor events.
- Alternative beverages and food are required.
- There are maximum serving sizes, maximum quantities, and, in case where beverages are sold, minimum sale prices.
- Events may not begin before 11am, last after 1 am, or be longer than five hours.
How do I register an event or get a permit? The administration of the university-wide alcohol policy is the responsibility of Baker University Center. To request permission to use or serve alcoholic beverages on University property or to apply for a permit to sell alcoholic beverages on University property, contact the Reservations Office, Baker University Center, Baker 347, (740) 593-4020.
