Reminders for eligible employees about upcoming mandatory furlough days

University Human Resources would like to remind eligible University employees of the upcoming mandated furlough days for FY21

The mandatory furlough days apply to administrators, faculty, and classified staff.  Employees in these groups should not perform any work during the furlough days unless such work is essential and approved by their supervisor. Should an eligible employee be required to work on a mandated furlough day, they should report the time worked and utilize vacation, compensatory, or personal time to account for any scheduled time for the remainder of the day.  Such employees and supervisors should immediately identify an alternate date to take the furlough day.

Staff covered by the ASCFME Local 1699 and Fraternal Order of Police collective bargaining agreements are not covered by the furlough and should plan to report to work as normally scheduled, unless they are directed otherwise by their supervisors.

Furlough Time Reporting

Employees must report use of these furlough days in the appropriate timekeeping system.

Hourly staff must enter furlough days into WorkForce time entry to receive payment for furlough days. Detailed instructions for entering furlough days in WF can be found here.

Salaried faculty and staff should report furlough days in Absence Management using the Absence type of “Furlough Pres Appt”.  Directions for creating absences in Absence Management can be found here.
