UCM Quarterly Dashboard highlights past quarter successes

Ohio University Communications and Marketing (UCM) has released its quarterly dashboard, which highlights achievement metrics, projects and initiatives completed during the last quarter. The dashboard provides a sampling of recent progress in UCM’s ongoing mission to raise the national profile of the University, its programs and the OHIO brand.

Successes from the last quarter include:

  • Significant increases in engagement on the University’s official social media platforms, including a 20 percent increase in engagement on Facebook, a 25 percent increase in likes on Instagram and an extraordinary 122 percent increase in video plays on YouTube.
  • A .25 percent increase in pageviews on all UCM-administered websites, including the OHIO home page where unique pageviews were up 5 percent over the previous quarter.
  • Over 4,600 media placements within three months.
  • Prominent media placements in outlets that include Reuters, The Columbus Dispatch, The Washington Post, The New York Times and Inside Higher Ed, covering topics that include Melania Trump’s task in Europe, new perspective on how lemurs got to Madagascar and OHIO’s help in fighting the opioid epidemic.

The dashboard also includes a faculty expert’s spotlight that features faculty experts who were highly quoted on breaking or topical news, derived from media mentions identified through media monitoring software. It also features a “Highlighted News” section, which includes a sampling of recent significant University stories and announcements.

“We have seen numerous successes in the last three months at UCM, from a higher volume of views on our videos, to more engagement on social media and faculty experts quoted in major media outlets; all things we celebrate in this quarter’s dashboard,” said senior communications director Carly Leatherwood. “This dashboard allows us to review our accomplishments, but also see where improvements can be made to assure we are advancing our efforts to elevate OHIO’s national prominence.”
