Residential Housing video outlines residence hall closing procedures

Whether it’s your first winter break closing or your last, Ohio University Residential Housing is ready to help and has released another episode in its video web series – this one dedicated to reminding students about move-out procedures for winter break.

“OHIO 201: Closing” debuted on YouTube this past week and outlines the tasks students who live in the University’s residence halls must accomplish before vacating their rooms for the holidays. Tasks range from those that involve safety and security – like unplugging electronics and locking doors and windows – to actions designed to make the return in January a little more pleasant – like cleaning the room’s floor and tidying up your living area.

Presented in a way that’s both informative and humorous, the video reinforces the information resident assistants provided to students during floor meetings held earlier this month. All of the information provided is also available at http://www.ohio.edu/housing/halls/closing.cfm.

This latest video follows the four-part “OHIO 101” video series Residential Housing rolled out this past summer to help prepare first-year students for their arrival on the Athens Campus. All of the department’s videos are designed to help students navigate college life and learn the basics of becoming a Bobcat.

Ohio University’s residence halls officially close for winter break at noon on Saturday, Dec. 13.
