With Black Alumni Reunion Weekend drawing closer, the Ohio University Multicultural Center is featuring an exhibit appealing to black consciousness with pieces from students, alumni, and staff.
The "Black Synesthesia" art exhibit opened Sept. 2 and runs through Sept. 30. A gallery reception with light refreshments will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. The reception is part of the Black Alumni Reunion.
Linda Daniels, director of the Multicultural Center, says the Multicultural Center hoped to include artists relatable to alumni of every generation.
"Many of the [alumni] who come back for the Black Alumni Reunion will either have known the professors or taken the professors," Daniels said. "One of the student [artists] graduated in the spring and the other is a current student. We tried to get a mix of alumni and current students."
