From staff reports
Ohio University Culinary Services is revamping its gift card program.
Beginning July 2013, Culinary Services will start to phase out its existing gift card as it prepares to introduce a new card program to the campus population for the 2013-14 academic year.
The new Culinary Services gift card will be sold at select retail venues, including West 82 Food Court (1st Floor, Baker University Center).
The gift card will be accepted within all Culinary Services food venues across campus: Latitude 39 Casual Dining, West 82 Food Court, The Front Room Coffeehouse, all Campus Cafés, Campus Markets and Dining Courts.
The new program will also include enhanced service features; campus customers and visitors will have access to an online web portal that will enable them to view and track their card balances.
A separate gift card/voucher program is being developed for Bobcat Essentials, as the venue initiates a new online bookstore component providing service to the campus community.
Customers in possession of the original Culinary Services gift card, informally known as "Baker Gift Cards," will be able to utilize their cards and associated balances at all Culinary Services venues and Bobcat Essentials through 2015.
Culinary Services will work with any customers who still have remaining card balances on the original gift card after that date.
As the program develops, Culinary Services will continue to inform the campus through various outlets, including "Compass" and its departmental website, www.ohio.edu/food.
