The Culture Showcase Series titled "Muslim Journeys" continues with a discussion led by Ohio University Director of African Studies Steve Howard.
The presentation, titled "Islam in Africa," will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Friends of the Libraries room (room 319). Howard will discuss the situations and challenges of Muslim culture in Africa.
Directed by the Ohio University Libraries Diversity Committee, the Culture Showcase Series is a continual program that illustrates a new theme each semester.
In addition to faculty discussions, this semester's theme includes book displays located on the second and fourth floors of Alden Library and a photographic plasma show on the first floor.
"It's been so neat the way things have come together," said Eileen Theodore-Shusta, director of the program. "It just seems like so many people have been very interested in this topic. It has a lot more depth than we normally have. It's really exciting to see how we can create something in the library to educate a little and also show the diversity of interest on campus."
The presentation is free and open to the public.
